On February 16th, 2022, at 19.00, the event of the European Project “CHICK LEADERS” was held in Dubai, at EFZIN EXPO 2020 Restaurant.

The event was attended by a large number of people, consisting mainly of representatives of major meat & poultry import companies, bloggers, wholesalers, retailers and journalists. The audience had the opportunity to learn about the main objective of the campaign, to get information about the quality of European poultry products as well as to get more information about the meat production and processing. Moreover, the event was attended by two representatives from the official Greek authorities in Dubai, Mr Yannis Smyrlis, Secretary General at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Greece, Mrs. Maria Kostopoulou, Head of the Office for Economic Commercial Affairs, Mr. Dimitrios Thomopoulos, First Secretary for Economic and Commercial Affairs, Embassy of Greece in the UAE, MFA-Embassy of Greece in the UAE and Mrs Betty Alexandropoulou, Executive Director of Enterprise Greece SA.

The representatives of the the Agricultural Poultry Cooperative of Ioannina PINDOS, Mr. Ioannis Patounas and the Marketing Manager Mrs Elftheria Masoura, provided the audience with valuable insight on the process of producing high quality European poultry. In addition, they highlighted the activities of the Cooperative and the specific features of agricultural production methods, particularly in terms of traceability, authenticity, nutritional aspects, respect for the environment and sustainability. Moreover, the noted that tasty poultry products are produced based on restrictive standards and procedures that arise from Common Agricultural Policy. More specifically, producers operating within the European Union are obliged to comply with the EU regulations that allow supervision of the whole food production chain “from the farm to the table”. EU farm policy has changed considerably in recent decades in order to help farmers face challenges and respond to changing consumer’s attitudes and expectations. As a result, the consumers enjoy high quality poultry that combines unique taste with guaranteed food safety.
